Role of Pakistan Reading Project (PRP) in Promoting Urdu Reading Skill at Primary Level in Azad Jammu and Kashmir

This study was arranged to compare the performance of PRP schools and Non-PRP in promoting Urdu reading skills learners at primary level District Kotli AJ&K. The objectives were improvement non-PRP Schools gender wise, area wise schools. population consisted all 410 (256 male 154female) 620 (309 &311 female) Dist. Four four non- (2 boys &2 girls) selected randomly. In this way, total eight (8) students 191. self-made test made as a research instrument for study. Data collection through personal visit. analyzed by using mean, standard deviation independent sample t-test. is above than average marks components while Non- three (comprehension, vocabulary print concept) below components. On basis analysis findings conclusion drawn studying better with respect Boys girls & Schools, urban rural slightly skills. findings, analysis, conclusions give some ideas improving Education department help co-operation Government should provide opportunities teachers gain training about modern techniques PRP. government upgrade their Headteachers regarding coaching according era. Department education organize proper ongoing Headteachers. These be part curriculum AJK well Pakistan.
